Mr. Dawson has assisted hundreds of people from different countries to immigrate to the United States through family members (obtain lawful permanent residence in the U.S., "green cards"). He has additionally helped others obtain U.S. citizenship. More recent immigration laws have made it more difficult to obtain residence in this country and Mr. Dawson has substantial experience in handling waivers, when needed, including, but not limited to, those involving unlawful presence (3/10 bar rule), and waivers for those who may have a criminal background. He is impressively able in proving exceptional and extremely unusual hardship for those people who have resided in the U.S. for more than 10
For over 30 years, Mr. Dawson has represented non-U.S. citizens in immigration court, attempting to keep them in this country lawfully, by, sometimes, applying for cancellation of removal, and/or permanent residence ("green cards") through family members, such as a U.S. citizen spouse, as well as attempting to obtain employment authorization while they fight their cases before the immigration court. He also has handled an impressive amount of administrative appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, and then, judicial appeals to the ninth circuit court of appeals in San Francisco, California, the latter being a court of law one step below the highest court of the land, the U.S. Supreme Court.
