Howard Dawson, Esq., was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended UCLA as an undergraduate and majored in Spanish. He studied Spanish for three months while in the Yucatan in Mexico, on scholarship, and he later attended the University of Madrid for 1 year. After being 1 of 2 students graduating with honors from the Department of Spanish from UCLA, he went on to study law at Southwestern University School of Law, from which he graduated in 1978. While attending UCLA and then law school, he was a part-time Spanish interpreter for the Immigration Court in Los Angeles, which is now part of the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Dawson became licensed to practice law in California in June, 1979, he worked for two law firms between June, 1979 and June, 1984, and he has his own practice/office since July, 1984.
Mr. Dawson has over thirty years of experience as an attorney, practicing primarily both security clearance law before the U.S. Department of Defense, and immigration law before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the immigration court within the U.S. Department of Justice and in the ninth circuit court of appeals.
